De-clutter your Kitchen PANTRY when preparing a home to sell
It is so easy for Foods to get shoved in the back of the pantry and just forgotten about as time passes. When buyers consider your home, they will look into the pantry and kitchen cupboards wondering if there’s enough storage space, and so more than at any other time, it’s important to clean out the pantry before listing your home for sale. If there’s anything gross or expired, just throw it away. The money has already been spent. The food bank doesn’t want it …it’s OK to let that stuff go.
If there are foods that you know you or your family don’t eat , there’s really no reason to keep it. This is a great time to make a donation to the food bank. Box up any unexpired foods that you can’t see yourself eating anytime soon…. There’s nothing wrong with letting go of stuff you know that you will not use. There are plenty of hungry people in our community that would be happy to receive this food from the food bank.
If you like to be prepared for the future, and you have extremely long-term food storage, it would be nice to box those things up now and store them neatly in a weather protected corner of the garage until the move so that your pantry can feel spacious to any buyers considering your home.
It’s good during the course of a sale to purchase only the foods that you will actually be eating that week, or in the very near future to help maximize the appearance of the storage space in your kitchen.
