Declutter your dining room

Sometimes the kitchen table has to serve many purposes whether you’re sitting down for a meal, doing homework, putting together a puzzle, or working on crafts with friends; the kitchen table is a great place to gather!  Whether you have a formal dining room or not, taking a few minutes to simplify your dining area can help maximize the enjoyment of your home, so grab a trash bag and toss out anything gross or broken!

Some things you may be able to throw away from your DINING ROOM might include:

Cracked or chipped dishes

Stained, torn, or aged tablecloths, place-mats,  or napkins

Old artwork or kids projects you have displayed and are ready to let go

Candles that have burnt down

Ugly or  stained rugs

Old broken chairs

After the TRASH is gone you may still have stuff taking up space that can easily go.

Declutter your dining room Grab a box for donate and just get rid of anything that you don’t love anymore.

It’s OK to move on let that stuff go.

You may be able to give away:

Serving dishes you never use

Baskets, vases, or other decorations you don’t really like or use often

Fancy dishes you don’t use.

Keepsakes you do not LOVE

Tablecloths that no longer fit your style

Cloth napkins you will never use again

Candlesticks or crystal you no longer use.

It can take some time to go through stuff, especially if you have keepsakes that have been handed down to you.  AND if you are not currently loving it there is no reason to keep it in your house.  The more stuff you get rid of the more you free up your space to fit the things, people, and activities you really love into your life.

And ESPECIALLY when you are preparing to sell this can make a HUGE difference in how your home feels to buyers walking through.  The less “stuff” there is lying around the more they can feel free to picture how they would use the space…  and if they fall in love with the life they imagine themselves living in your house they are much, MUCH more likely to purchase it.  SO go slow if you need, but take the time to declutter and you will never regret it 🙂
