Declutter your living room to create a comfortable space

An inviting living room is so important in creating a comfortable home.    This becomes EXTRA  important when selling a home because you want buyers to be able to walk through and imagine themselves living LIFE in your living room.  We want them to be able to imagine a life so great they choose to buy your home!

Sometimes after a while we do not even notice things starting to pile up around us.  Take a minute to REALLY look around – is there anything broken or old that needs thrown out?    Grab a trash bag and toss as much trash as you can find.

If you look hard you may have

Old magazines, old pet toys, candles that have burnt, unneeded mail or receipts, broken decorations, threadbare or torn pillows, blankets, or throws, damaged Kid’s books or toys.  Throw away anything broken or gross.

After the trash is gone look for anything you do not need any longer.  Grab a box for donations and get rid of things you just don’t use any more.  People’s tastes change over time and there is no reason to keep anything you do not love anymore.

Maybe you will find:

Blankets & pillows you don’t love or use,  puzzles, games, or toys you do not enjoy,  books you do not plan to read again,  decorative items you do not love,  candles you will not burn,  knickknacks you no longer enjoy,  ANYTHING you are tired of dusting…   You can get rid of it all.

Take just a minute to put away any things that belong in other rooms and then take a look around your beautiful living room and congratulate yourself on a job well done!!
